SOUTHEASTERN N.C. - The Republican candidates for U.S. Congress in North Carolina's 7th District recently completed a series of pre-primary debates in nine southeastern North Carolina counties. The ninth and final pre-primary debate was held Saturday in Fayetteville. Frank Williams, Chairman of the N.C. 7th Congressional District Republican Party, today called on Congressman Mike McIntyre to ensure that Saturday's debate is not the last Congressional debate in the 7th district this year.
"We are proud of our candidates for their willingness to debate in every corner of the district during the course of this primary," says Williams. "Today, the voters will decide which of our three Republican candidates will face Congressman Mike McIntyre in November. We call on Congressman Mike McIntyre to debate the Republican nominee this Fall. If our candidates are willing to debate nine times during the primary, Congressman McIntyre should have the courage to debate his Republican opponent during the general election. It would be a shame for last Saturday's debate to be the final debate for Congress in the 7th District this year."
North Carolina's 7th Congressional District includes the following counties in southeastern North Carolina: Bladen, Brunswick, Columbus, Cumberland (part), Duplin (part), New Hanover, Pender, Robeson, Sampson (part) and Scotland (part). We invite Republicans and unaffiliated voters to attend this event or watch it on our website, get to know our candidates, determine which of them they feel should carry the Republican banner in November, and then get involved with the campaigns of their choice. This is an important election, and conservatives need all hands on deck if we are going to inject some much-needed integrity, common sense and fiscal responsibility into our government."

BOLIVIA, NC - A forum featuring Republican candidates for the 7th Congressional District attracted a standing room only crowd in Brunswick County yesterday. Candidates Will Breazeale and Ilario Pantano debated the issues for an hour and a half. The winner of the May 4 Republican primary will face off with Democrat Mike McIntyre in November.
"The huge turnout at this event is indicative of the level of interest and enthusiasm among conservatives who want to restore our government to its founding principles of limited government and economic freedom," says Frank Williams, Chairman of the 7th District GOP. "Federal spending and our national debt have skyrocketed over the past year and a half. It is imperative that we elect new, fiscally conservative leaders who will end wasteful spending and stop saddling future generations with a mountain of debt."
"The May 4 Republican Primary will determine which candidate carries our party's banner this November," Williams adds. "We encourage Republicans and unaffiliated conservatives to get to know our candidates, determine which of them they feel should carry the Republican banner in November, and then get involved with the campaign of their choice."
