Video of Sen Harry Reid “Taxation is Voluntary” E-mail

As I watched this video, I cannot help but wonder if it has been edited. If this is the caliber of our politicians, who is to blame? Our elections are being bought and stolen with voter fraud. We the People sit and watch television or listen to the radio and hope that everything will be fine after the next election cycle.  Does everything look like it will be fine? As we focus our efforts on the passage of health care "reform" using illegal procedures, the government is working on legislation for Cap & Trade, Immigration, Fishing control, Gun control, Land confiscation and another Wall Street bailout.

The expression "America, Love it or Leave it" defined our citizens into two camps: patriots or dissidents. These dissidents are vocal people who feel guilty about living in the greatest country in history. Their motives are to either destroy us or to redistribute the fruits of our labor so that they can sleep better at night. America has forgotten the most important aspect of the founding of our country: taking away the fruits of someone's labor is slavery. If our schools taught this simple concept correctly, we would not be a morally and fiscally bankrupt country. Our new expression is "America, Defend It or Let the Chains Rest Lightly. Are you ready to go peacefully into the night?

Reforming Insurance across all industries is now necessary by Dr Ada Fisher E-mail

posted with permission by Dr Ada Fisher

Love him or not, I have to give it to Mr. Obama who has artfully shifted the Health Care debate to insurability from access and affordability which his legislation on health care is also not about.  Risk assessment and coverage are a major concern in providing insurance coverage to everyone or in mitigating against financial losses in most situations.  With health care eliminating increased costs based on risk, controlling access and costs are much trickier than is appreciated by John Q public or legislators.

If people continue to engage in slovenly behavior such as smoking, failing to exercise, excessive eating and other engagements which are within their control, why should policyholders (taxpayers) pay extra for their risks?

If people are born with expensive genetic impairments or injured in accidents which require medical coverage who should pick up the tab?  What of those with terminal illnesses or those engaged in using experimental therapies?

If people have children with transmittable costly genetic conditions and continue to have additional children subject to the same findings, is this fair and should society have to willingly assume these costs?  Or what about those who continue to have babies with no means to care for them?  Is this also society's cost to bear?

If people have dementia such as Alzheimer's or become disabled to the point that they can't take care of themselves but can live forever in nursing facilities, will we pay for this when they are no longer able to?  Will all mental illnesses and infirmities now be covered?

Welcome to the Obama Health Emporium world proposal of eliminating risk based considerations in health care which is going to force the government to pay for everything for everyone.   It is unlikely that health insurance companies are going to do this and without jobs and more of their own money to take home, citizens will find themselves increasingly unable to provide this for themselves, i.e. broke.

If Congress signs the Health Reform Act legislation, Universal Care is a done deal.  If you believe there are enough tax payers earning over $200,000 to cover these costs you are crazy.  If you believe that health care is not going to cost you more and raise your taxes or that limitations are not going to be put on care received, you are out of your mind especially given our $12 trillion dollar national debt.  I strongly ask that we insist on Congress being subjected to the same rules it is proposing for citizens.

When Katrina wiped out Louisianna's 9th Ward why were we willing to allow government funding to rebuild there in flood plains likely to experience the same again?  Or why are insurance companies selling coverage for coastal properties hit more than twice by on-coming waves?  Why are people allowed to drive with inadequate insurance coverage for personal injury which requires taxpayers to absorb associated health cost?  Why are people allowed to sue with recovery for Act's of G-d when insurance companies fail to pay appreciating that they sold policies which they couldn't cover and stay solvent? And why are health insurance companies making millions in profits while individual premium costs continue to rise?

The government now owns housing thanks to the mortgage crisis, helped put Chrysler and GM out of business becoming an auto industry investor and now is going to own your health care.  Welcome to the American version of socialism without direct input from the American people other than their tax dollars.

If this is what a constitutional lawyer comes up with now, stay tuned for the advancing wave to truly make America lose any chance for control of its borders with immigration reform, a.k.a. everyone come on in for the doors are open.  Will our national sovereignty be next as we come under the control of international courts so that we may be put on a level playing field with others of lesser means and resources in a universal attempt to next redistribute our national wealth?

Wake Up America there is still time to save democracy, freedom and adhere to the US Constitution while working to solve the problems within our borders.

Drudge Report...Mexican military copter over U.S. neighborhood E-mail

BROWNSVILLE - The Zapata County sheriff Thursday was questioning why a Mexican military helicopter was hovering over homes on the Texas side of the Rio Grande.

It was one of the more jarring incidents of the fourth week of border tensions sparked by drug killings, and rumors of such killings, in the Mexican state of Tamaulipas.

Sheriff Sigifredo Gonzalez said he'd reviewed photos of the chopper flown by armed personnel Tuesday over a residential area known as Falcon Heights-Falcon Village near the binational Falcon Lake, just south of the Starr-Zapata county line. He said the helicopter appeared to have the insignia of the Mexican navy.

"It's always been said that the Mexican military does in fact ... that there have been incursions," Gonzalez said. "But this is not New Mexico or Arizona. Here we've got a river; there's a boundary line. And then of course having Falcon Lake, Falcon Dam, it's a lot wider. It's not just a trickle of a river, it's an actual dam. You know where the boundary's at."

The sighting came amid ongoing fighting between the Gulf Cartel and its former enforcers, Los Zetas. The mounting death toll and crisis of fear in cities across from the Texas border have drawn global attention, as has a news blackout in affected cities due to the kidnappings of eight Mexican journalists, at least one of whom was killed.

As violence continued Thursday with a highway shootout in Tamaulipas, a Senate subcommittee in Washington heard testimony that drug cartels are trying to infiltrate U.S. agencies along the border, with corruption cases among Homeland Security personnel on the rise.

In the past two years, there have been 400 public corruption cases involving federal, state and local law enforcement agents originating from the Southwest border region, Kevin Perkins, FBI assistant director for criminal investigations, told the Senate Homeland Security subcommittee on preparedness.

James Tomsheck, a U.S. Customs and Border Protection assistant commissioner, told the panel the drug cartels operating in Mexico are making a concerted effort to infiltrate CBP, and the agency is responding with more screening of job applicants with polygraph tests and background investigations. Corruption cases were opened last year on 576 CBP officers and Border Patrol agents.

In addition to the highway battle, news from Tamaulipas on Thursday included a 25-year-old man found dead on a roadside in Miguel Alemán. On Wednesday, three people died in one or two gun battles in Reynosa.

Four other deaths have been reported since Saturday in the cities of Mier, Camargo and Miguel Alemán.

Wednesday's confirmed confrontations in Reynosa included an evening run-in between elements of the ministry of defense and armed civilians and a battle between drug factions that lasted for hours. One woman was injured during a skirmish Tuesday between federal officials and drug operatives.

A military operation Wednesday in Reynosa reportedly resulted in the wounding and arrest of a man identified by witnesses as a former engineer for Pemex, the government oil monopoly. The witnesses told the Mexican newspaper El Universal that an attempt by army soldiers to stop his late-model white Suburban escalated into a pursuit with gunfire. More than 100 soldiers closed off neighborhood streets as part of the operation.

Gonzalez, the Zapata sheriff, said he couldn't confirm reports that the helicopter was scoping out the home of a drug criminal. He said the incursion about a mile over the border took place over a neighborhood populated by many U.S. Customs officers who work at area border crossings - and that they knew what they were seeing.

"My understanding is the U.S. military were informed," he said. "I don't know what action was taken, if any."

Guess how many taxes are in this bill??!! E-mail
As a citizen concerned about our nation's health care system, I thought you'd like to know that the health care bill being rammed through the House contains 10 years worth of tax increases to pay for only 6 years worth of benefits.   These taxes total $500 billion dollars over 10 years.  Many of these taxes will affect Americans earning less than $200,000 a year, despite the President's promise to avoid such taxes.
Here are just a few of the taxes contained in the bill:
  • $750 penalty per worker charged to employers who fail to provide government-sanctioned health insurance
  • Tax on brand name drugs-totaling $2.3 billion
  • Increased penalty for early withdrawal from your HSA (from 10% to 20%)
  • Tax on medical devices-totaling $19.2 billion
  • 10% tax on indoor tanning services
WHAT THIS MEANS FOR YOU:  Some of these taxes may affect you directly.  Others, like the employer mandate, will cost our economy desperately needed jobs.  Others will have ripple effects through the system that will raise prices for everyone.    THE DOCTOR'S DIAGNOSIS:  America needs common sense health reform, not job-killing taxes.  Future Congresses will be under pressure to raise taxes even further to pay for future years of an expanded government-administered health care system.
As this process unfolds, I will continue to work to represent you, bring common-sense to this debate, expose abuses of power and do all I can to prevent bad policy from becoming law.
