FAYETTEVILLE, N.C. - Lou Huddleston, Republican candidate for North Carolina's Eighth Congressional District, today challenged freshman Congressman Larry Kissell to explain his overwhelming reliance on special interest money and out-of-state donations to fund his reelection campaign.
Of the $117,600 Kissell raised for the final quarter of 2009, less than $16,000 came from individual supporters here in North Carolina. The vast majority of Kissell's contributions, almost 87% of the money he raised, came from liberal Washington insiders and Kissell's special interest allies.
Kissell's Federal Election Commission report released last weekend reflects growing dissatisfaction with the incumbent's failed record in Congress. After promising to represent our North Carolina values in Washington, Kissell promptly reversed course and now votes with Nancy Pelosi's liberal agenda 96% of the time. After promising to jumpstart job creation in the Eighth District, our 10 counties have lost 24,000 jobs on Kissell's watch.
"Congressman Kissell has abandoned our interests in favor of the special interests funding his campaign," Huddleston said. "With Washington powerbrokers bankrolling his campaign, it's no surprise that Larry Kissell has been content in taking his marching orders from Nancy Pelosi. Much like Larry Kissell forgot his campaign promise to create new jobs, he's now forgotten the people who he represents. North Carolina deserves better

The NRA, Turkey Farmers, Beer Wholesalers, Pork Producers, Energy companies, Insurance providers and the like!
So Kissel is now beholden to those National Rifle Assocation lobbysists that endorsed his campign against you is the point. Thanks Lou for keeping the "left" honest!
Now, don't go in debt to respond or anything. You'll have your chance to debate Harold Johnson soon.
